Working With Our Team
What to expect
If you haven't worked with a marketing and design team before let me share with you our process and workflow so you know what to expect and what we bring to the table.
Our goal is to make the process as easy as possible. While working with each client can be different, there are a few basics that are the same across the board.
1. Initial Consultation
We schedule an initial consultation/brainstorm with you. Our initial consultations are always free. This allows us to get to know you and your business and develop a list of recommendations. During the brainstorm meeting we ask that you have the following information and materials available to us:
- All print materials (brochures, ads, business cards, etc.)
- Information and statistics on any paid web advertising programs you are using
- Previous marketing plans
- Company mission statement
- Website and any web campaign materials
- Email marketing designs, list numbers, and stats
We also ask that you fill out a detailed questionnaire before our meeting. This allows us to make recommendations based on your needs. If your website or print materials are working for your business, we will provide you with recommendations to supplement your current program. If you are looking to start fresh and rebrand your business, we will outline a path forward and outline what actions we can take to get your new brand in place quickly.
2. Contracting
We will send you a list of recommendations and a plan for implementation. This may be a proposal for specific materials (website, brochure, etc.), or we may suggest one of our retainer programs. The fees due at contracting depend largely on your needs and retainer programm.
3. Research & Development
This is where the fun begins! We then move forward on researching your industry and developing your marketing plan. We work with you to outline campaigns for the coming year, and set a timeline for print material and web development.
4. Projects Begin
OK, this is where the fun really begins... Here is where we start developing the look and feel of your materials. We design a few versions of your selected materials, and send over a selection to you for your opinion and approval. We go over what was created and the marketing decisions behind it.
- We may ask you to provide the following items in this step:
- Copy: This includes any text, phone numbers, or other information you want to appear in your materials. Copy writing, editing and proof reading serivices are available, we will notify you if they are not include in your contract.
- Photos, Logos, Etc.: This includes any elements that you have previously created, that you would like us to include in your new materials.
- Examples: If you have a clear idea of what you are looking for by all means send us samples.
- Checklist: We will send you a simple checklist of the materials we need to maximize your materials and create as little back and forth as possible.
Approval Process: We work with you through the revision process, so you get exactly what you want. As soon as your project is approved, it’s off to printing or live on the web.
The Finish Line: Nothing’s finished until the printed piece is in your hand, or the website is live, or the email is out. Printing and website hosting can be tricky. That’s why we work with you through the printing and hosting process until the entire job is done.
5. Program Development & Ongoing Support
There is always a big push in the beginning, after the main items are complete we go into implementation mode. This could include writing email campaigns, blogging, placing local ads, website maintenance, press releases, and more. This may also include providing you support on a weekly or monthly basis depending on your needs.
