About Us

Meet our core creative team…

Anya Smilanick

Agency Director & Founder

With 13 years of marketing and design under her belt, Anya founded Small Dog Creative in 2007. Anya has worked on hundreds of projects for hundreds of small businesses needing marketing materials online and offline. Anya graduated from Claremont Graduate University with an MFA in Fine Art, and now channels her creative energy into all things marketing. She enjoys being actively involved in the community and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Joy Whittemore

Marketing Director

Joy spent over 17 years managing widely recognized brands as an in-house marketing manager. After transitioning to owning her own marketing agency, Add+In Marketing, Joy merged with Small Dog Creative in 2016 so that she could offer clients a full array of creative services that include expertly crafted websites and inbound marketing capabilities. She enjoys seeing the rewarding results that come from providing clients with the consultative support they need to keep their businesses flourishing. Joy keeps the ball rolling and the artwork flowing.

Eric Martin

Art Director

Eric grew up in Kansas, where he was orphaned through a bizarre and extremely unlikely combination of tornadoes, a minor league hockey team, and a ’77 Chevy Nova. He was adopted by a family of prairie dogs, where he learned how to forage for seeds, avoid hawks, and design logos. Upon reaching adulthood, Eric left the coterie and took to the rural highways. He traversed our great nation, going to Arizona, then Connecticut, then all the way left to California. He eventually settled in Tujunga, CA, where he currently resides with his wife and two sons.

Monica Delgado

Assistant Marketing Manager

Monica is a creative marketing specialist of many wonderful talents. She spends her days writing compelling content, pestering the design team, facilitating ultimate greatness, and cursing Facebook’s excuses for disapproving her brilliant ad campaigns. She also drinks more tea than you’d expect to be humanly possible and has an unnatural obsession with her golden retriever, Utah. When she’s not in the office, you can usually find her (and her fiancé) out hiking, mountain biking, surfing, or camping.

Glen Moyes

Graphic Designer

Glen is the reincarnation of Leonardo da Vinci’s long-forgotten brother Kevin da Vinci. He is half designer, half illustrator, half gear nerd, half programmer, and half chimera, which is why the math works out. Glen received his art degree at a secret British boarding school for wizards and reincarnated polymaths, where he developed his affinity for squirrels and binder clips. Glen enjoys teaching art, riding roller coasters, and participating in any sport that utilizes large motors to make humans and other animals go really fast.

Ally Avatar

Ally Bertik

PR & Marketing Associate

A California native, Ally grew up in Thousand Oaks until she went on to major in communications at the University of Arizona with a minor in Spanish. Upon graduation, she returned to her hometown, where she first started dabbling in PR and grew to love it. At Small Dog, Ally spends her days leading PR campaigns, writing marketing content and managing social media efforts for clients. In her spare time, you can find Ally at spin class, exploring new restaurants, traveling or spending time with her family and friends.

Gilian Avatar

Gilian Maniccia

Web Project Manager

With over 10 years of Project Management experience, Gilian provides an unsurpassed level of customer care while guiding clients through the marketing experience. Born and raised in Santa Clarita, it’s only fitting that Gilian would have met her husband at Magic Mountain! Nowadays, they have two kids and three fur babies at home. You might not guess that Gilian is also a practicing Metalsmith (aka Ladysmith) in her free time. She is also an avid reader of Sci-Fi, Horror and Fantasy, and never turns down good whiskey.

The Office Gnome

Mischief Maker

This semi-magical creature comes to life at night and causes mischief. His favorite pastime is roaming the office after hours and drinking the office beer. He is often found passed out in the conference room or pooping under someone’s desk. He has been kicked out of the office many times, left across town, and shipped to China, but he always finds his way back in.
